Visual Identity Within the Triad

ACSM designed the historic brand for Aberdeen to create a strong identity for the quaint, yet quietly less-known town, located at the shopping crossroads adjacent to Pinehurst and Southern Pines, North Carolina. The final brand design incorporated three main themes that the Town Council and residents felt truly represent Aberdeen:

1. A strong Scottish heritage of the first settlers that made the Sandhills region prosperous.
2. The Aberdeen & Rockfish Railway that further enabled the success of the region.
3. The importance of connecting the main shopping district to the town itself.

After completion of the brand, ACSM designed, fabricated and installed the wayfinding system which included gateway monuments, wayfinding and facility signage.  Break-away systems on gateway signage was necessary for right of way placement, so ACSM designed and built a proprietary system to comply with MUTCD standards.
